2025 Vision to Reality II
“Sitting in quiet spaces sometimes means sitting with yourself and quieting your mind.”
2025 is all about vibes—the inner peace within myself and the exploration of my identity through writing. This year, my manifestations are simple:
I will win an award.
I will release an audiobook.
I will complete the first draft of When Fire Meets Fire.
I will submit to at least five literary magazines.
I will complete every story I start, even if it's just a draft.
This year, we will not write or entertain anything that doesn’t serve us. We will not surround ourselves with people who only take and never give. We will stand firm on our boundaries.
I will shoot my shot and reach for the stories I’ve dreamed of telling. We will be confident in our writing. We will start attending community events and get involved in the writing circles around us. This means calling bookstores to ask about events or meetups, reaching out to local libraries for writing groups, and performing poetry pieces in front of an audience.
Spoken word events—yes, we’re going there.
I will read more books that make my heart happy. I will learn more about craft, grammar, and structure. I will stay on top of social media, be active, be consistent, and most importantly—be myself.
2025 will bring new opportunities, and I will be prepared for them. I will write daily, read daily, and grow daily.
And that’s it.
On the practical side, we’re getting finances in order. Pay off at least one credit card. Save and invest. Begin prepping the super, super top-secret project to release in 2026. Build and strengthen relationships. Always be a good friend. Let the people you love know you love them. Hold them close.
“You are a fire, yes, but to the people who love you, you give warmth.”
You will be happy.
You will be patient.
You will be successful.
You will make new connections.
You will rise—and take everyone who stands beside you with you.
In Summary: At the end of the year, when you come back to read this, ask yourself:
Did we submit to at least five literary magazines?
Did we complete the first draft of When Fire Meets Fire?
Did we finish at least one novella?
Did we complete at least seven short stories?
Did we attend live events?
Did we make new connections?
Did we finish our audiobook?
Were we consistent across social media?
Did we keep our website up to date?
Did we tell our friends we love them?
Did we tell ourselves we love us?
Did we win any awards?
As always, future self, keep thriving. Your past self is so confident in you. I know we haven’t always had it easy, but we’ve always made it through. It’s time to stop surviving and start living.
Love you—with all of me.
Cheers to 2025.
PS: Do it for you, not for them—for you.
